I am a 65 year old grandfather and full-time factory worker. I live in Cass County Michigan. Besides writing, I am an amature entomologist, actively studying the insects common to this area, especially Cass County.  A large number of my poems are directed toward young children and young-at-heart adults. Poems such as HOBBY LAND, and JUST PRETEND as well as some of the nursery rhymes like THE ROBIN and MAN IN THE MOON are examples of this type of writing. In fact courtesy copies of an illustrated, self-published version of my poem THE EYE OF THE DRAGONFLY have been placed in some libraries, doctor's waiting rooms and daycare centers in Indiana, Iowa and Michigan.   These have been well received.  I also write poems about love, poems to inspire morality and action, poems that raise philosophical questions, and poems that require the reader to think outside the box.  I write mostly for the pleasure it brings me to  share my thoughts, feelings and observations in poetic form.  Just as an artist expresses his view of the world around him with paint and canvass, each of my poems represent a word picture of things I observe in nature and in human nature.  

Entomologist without degree. My avocation is studying the insect fauna of the Great Lakes Region and especially Cass County Michigan, my home. If time is kind, perhaps some day I will publish my findings.
