How often have you discovered (after the fact) that everything you did was just left unnoticed by someone you wanted to impress...and you felt like just "giving up?"
Am I the only one who feels that the year of 2014 is moving too quickly?

Perhaps there is something to that quirky saying that "Life is like a roll of bath tissue. The closer it gets to the end the faster it seems to go."

Maybe life seems to go so fast because we just "fill up" our schedules with things we would like to do, but can't for whatever other reasons get in the way. But because obstacles often derail us from our original plans...maybe we should just...

P. Perspective. Ever see someone running around in a hissy fit because something didn't go "their way?" Honestly, all of us who are adults do have our "hissy fit" moments. But just because something doesn't go according to plan, especially if we are to blame for something being derailed either purposely or just by chance, is that any reason for us to carry that burden around the next time an opportunity presents itself?

A. Appreciation. If no one ever appreciates your talents and abilities, what law book says that you can't toot your own horn? Even if nobody is listening, if you know you did a slam-dunk job on a project or an assignment, no matter who its for, no matter what the reason, you deserve to shout out to yourself. If someone looks to you for help, and you give it, and you don't get as much as a high five from 100 feet away, so what? None of us can control the reactions of others. But, you can smile in the mirror and tell yourself, "Self, I'm GOOD at what I do!" That confidence will show if it comes from a humble caring mindset. So chalk the experience up as practice, and trust me, SOMEONE will be looking for YOU!

U. Understanding. This means we have to listen not only to others reasons for asking us to do things, we have to listen to our own hearts as to why we say "YES" as opposed to saying "NO." Not sure how much further I can elaborate on this one. We all have our own reasons for saying "yay or nay." Make sure the reasons are based on present circumstances, not upon unjustified and undocumented fears of the past.

S. Stress.
When you take just the first three aforementioned items, and they are all pretty much in balance with your own belief system, then excessive stress has a very slim chance of dominating your spirit. We all know when we take too much onto ourselves. So why is it we think that people will lend a hand to us when we know we can't handle the burdens of all the projects we say we want to juggle? Clue: If you don't see six more appendages hanging out from your torso, you are not an octopus. Don't handle more than your mind and body can stand.

E. Energize!
For those of us who DO bite off more than we can chew, spit out the thoughts, things and ideas that weary the mind body and emotions. What we think is who we become. So why not feed the body good news, good books (I recommend Proverbs in the Holy Bible, as well as an full collection of as many personal empowerment mp3 downloads as your data storage will allow. Make a date with yourself every day for just a few minutes a day (start with 10 minutes and work your way up to 30 minutes) of doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WITH A MOBILE DEVICE. No texting, no talking, and NO SOCIAL MEDIA WEBSITE INTERACTING!

If it's important to check the levels of fluid in our motorized vehicles, isn't it fair to at least consider and do the same for the vehicle which houses the only body that you and I will ever have on this one way journey called "Earth Walk?"

So I say to all who read and share this: Remember no one can replace you. Remember everyone will have a hissy fit, and remember that when things don't go the way you planned originally, those things may not come to pass, but we can live another day, another week, another month, and another year. If this is the last thing I post on Authors Den for 2014, have a VERY HAPPY #HOLIDAY SEASON!

Create Greatness in Love,
